Copyright and condition of use of Virtual Apparatus Framework Specification Version 1.0

This document sets out the conditions of use and disclaimers
for the use of the Virtual Apparatus model, specification
version 1.0.
- Copyright.
The "Virtual Apparatus Model Specification Version 1.0",
referred to as "VA spec 1.0" is an original work, is protected
by copyright and remains the intellectual property of its
creator, Mr Albert Ip. VA spec 1.0 is part of Mr Ip’s effort
towards a PhD degree at the University of Melbourne.
All rights reserved by Albert Ip, 1997.
- Agreement. You are granted, without paying a fee,
a non-exclusive right to implement one or more educational
software components based on VA spec 1.0, on condition that
you agree to the terms and conditions in this agreement.
By implementing any educational software component meeting
the "VA spec 1.0", you indicate your explicit consent to this
agreement and you will to be bound by this agreement.
- Condition of Use. Distribution, redistribution and use of the "VA spec 1.0"
is permitted provided that the following conditions are met:
- Distribution or redistributions of educational software
components written to the "VA spec 1.0" must include
this file
without modification and the file containing the actual "VA spec 1.0"
- All advertising materials mentioning features or use of
this "VA spec 1.0" must display the following acknowledgement:
- This product complies with the "VA spec 1.0" developed
by Albert Ip at the University of Melbourne.
- Neither the name of the University nor the name of Albert Ip
may be used to endorse or promote products written to the
"VA spec 1.0" without specific prior written permission from
both parties.
- Disclaimer. The "VA spec 1.0" is provided "as is"
and any express or implied warranties, including, but not
limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and
fitness for a particular purpose are disclaimed. In no event,
Albert Ip and/or the University of Melbourne be made liable
for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or
consequential damages (including, but not limited to,
procurement of substitute goods or services; loss of use,
data, or profits; or business interruption) however caused and
on any theory of liability, whether in contract, strict
liability, or tort (including negligence or otherwise) arising
in any way out of the use of this "VA spec 1.0", even if
advised of the possibility of such damage.
